ADMINISTRATION AND FACULTY DEVELOPMENT UPDATES:

The JMC School Administrator, Ms. Nelia Q. Canada, was among the delegates invited to attend the international educators’ convention on Trends in Teaching and Learning in 21st Century Schools held on February 2-7, 2009 at the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region XI conducted a seminar-workshop on English Language Proficiency as part of its Regional Training Program for English teachers in the Davao Region last December 8-13, 2008 at the Casa Maria Inn, Ecoland, this city.

The JMC Administration designated Ms. Julieta Bravo as representative in the said training program which benefited 35 schools including other colleges and universities in Davao City.

The Civil Engineering Program will have its state-of-the-art laboratory very soon to meet the requirements set for its recognition and accreditation by the Commission of Higher Education. The CE Lab is conveniently located on the 2nd floor of the 2nd phase of the school building.

A special professorial lecture about Geo-Technical Engineering was presented by Engr. Venancio Besavilla, Jr. at the JMC Audio-Visual Room last February 4, 2009. The kind guest lecturer also donated 19 new books for engineering.
