The 2023 Davao Region Conference of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) commenced on August 29, at the Grand Men Seng Hotel. This is the first big gathering of academicians and education professionals since the onslaught of the pandemic. The event, organized by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI), forms part of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Celebration.
Highlighting the event, Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. (JMCFI) proudly took part in the ASEAN Photo Wall and National Costume Competition, representing the beautiful country of Vietnam.

The conference showcased a series of informative activities:
1. ASEAN Gallery Walk: An immersive journey through ASEAN’s rich history and achievements
2. CHED Presentation: Covering both the achievements of CHED RO XI from 2019–2022 and the future visions for the years 2023–2028
3. Focused Discussion: Delving into the journey towards international competitiveness in the educational sector, emphasizing the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF), Philippine Quality Awards (PQA), ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), and the QS World University Rankings
JMCFI’s growth and trajectory are remarkable, with the institution steadily rising to the top of the academic rankings. Currently channeling its efforts into internationalization, JMCFI is extending its global linkages and networks. The progress of this esteemed institution has been unprecedented under the guidance of its Founding President, Rev. Dr. Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy. JMCFI’s achievements have now set it on a pedestal, matching or even surpassing some of the old, established schools not only in the Davao Region but also at the national level.
Indeed, JMCFI is making waves in the academic world, setting an example for many and paving the way for future excellence.
