CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

This is an invitation for researchers, professionals, academicians, scholars, practitioners, leaders, deans, research heads and directors, faculty members, non-teaching staff, graduate and undergraduate students, and research enthusiasts from Government Organizations (GOs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), and Community Service Organizations (CSOs) who are interested to submit abstract (and original research paper) for oral presentation.

NOTE: Non-paper presenters are also welcome to attend the conference as observers.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

The conference will receive abstracts of the study until September 22, 2018 (Saturday) from interested paper presenters, and confirmation of accepted abstracts will be on September 29, 2018 (Saturday). Deadline for submission of full papers & PowerPoint presentations will be on October 06, 2018 (Saturday).

Presenters are anticipated to submit a minimum 150-word and a maximum 250-word abstract of the study at research@jmc.edu.ph (cc: dennis.lazarte@jmc.edu.ph) with a subject matter of “ABSTRACT for IRCon 2018”. Early submission of the abstract is highly appreciated. For inquiries, look for Mr. Dennis R. Lazarte through Mobile Nos. +639953638473 and +639294865656.

Abstract should follow the format below:

  • Microsoft Office Word (Not PDF)
  • Times New Roman, Font 12, Single Spaced
  • Should contain the name of the author(s), institution, contact numbers, and email address (presenter’s name should be in asterisk*)
  • Abstract should include the following:
    • Title
    • Introduction of the Topic
    • Statement of the Problem/Objectives
    • Short Methodology
    • Concise Findings (Results and Conclusion)
    • Recommendations
    • With five (5) keywords having four parts:

(a) discipline of the study

(b) concepts investigated

(c) methods and process

(d) geography (country/continent)

It must be accompanied by an updated curriculum vitae with 2x2 photo & institution logo.

PAPER SELECTION PROCESS

All submitted abstracts shall undergo a peer review process by the JMC research committee prior to acceptance. Authors of accepted papers (or unaccepted papers) shall be duly notified via email. Full paper is maximum of 5 pages only. Sample Full Paper Format will be sent after the Notification of Acceptance.

PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITIES

Papers presented in the conference shall be considered for future publication in the Research Journal of the Jose Maria College - Research, Development and Publication Center. Papers shall have to undergo double peer review process prior to publication.

RATIONALE

Over the years, the advancement of knowledge in multidisciplinary research has taken a path of unlimited possibilities. We have reached our world in understanding using a multidisciplinary approach in order to explain the behavior of nature, things, phenomena, individuals, and society. Yet, the challenges of multidisciplinary research, innovations and development continue to be the top agenda of many research fora and discussions today.

Preparing research enthusiasts to go beyond the barriers of different approaches requires many things. Adopting a multidisciplinary approach would enable them to become effective in investigating multifaceted problems in today's innovations and developments.

It is in this respect that the Jose Maria College Research, Development and Publication Center will hold the IRCon 2018: International Research Conference with the theme, “Embracing the Challenges of Multidisciplinary Research, Innovations and Development”. This will take place at the KJC Hall, Jose Maria College, Sasa, Davao City, Philippines on October 20, 2018.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

At the end of the conference, the participants are expected to:

  1. Understand the challenges and opportunities of multidisciplinary research, innovations, and development;
  2. Use research as a medium to respond to multifaceted problems;
  3. Present research and obtain feedback from other experts in various fields;
  4. Develop collaborations for future research projects and network with other research professionals and research enthusiasts; and
  5. Be updated with research cultures and new trends that are emerging in other research communities across the globe.

EXPECTED PARTICIPANTS & OUTCOMES

Researchers, academicians, scholars, practitioners, leaders, deans, research heads and directors, faculty members, non-teaching staff, graduate and undergraduate students, and research enthusiasts from Government Organizations (GOs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and Community Service Organizations (CSOs) from throughout the country and across the globe to discuss issues and challenges of multidisciplinary research, innovations and development.

This conference aims to enable researchers to explore and expand boundaries of knowledge and research interest by providing a venue for researchers among various disciplines to share ideas, learn, and forge partnerships and collaborative agreements between and among themselves.

DRESS CODE

A dress code is followed within the campus to maintain a professional culture. Participants may come to Jose Maria College in formal or semi-formal attire. Sleeveless shirts, skirts above the knees, shorts and open-toed footwear are STRICTLY not allowed inside the campus.
