In its vision to provide easier access to library resources, the Jose Maria College (JMC) installs Online Public Access (OPAC) facilities last March 1, 2018.

OPAC, being the electronic version of the card catalog, allows students to locate materials in library easily. Moreover, it provides access to 50,000 reference books and journals available online.

“The acquisition of the OPAC would greatly help the JMC students in their library researches. Wide dissemination and technical assistance will be provided so that students will be familiar with the use of the system,” JMC Head Librarian, Ann Jumamil said.

The facility was donated by the National Library of the Philippines which had the same desire to improve the library experience of Filipino students.

Surely, OPAC is one of the stepping stones in fulfilling JMC’s vision of upgrading the resource centers into e-libraries. It is just one of the many efforts that JMC exerts to provide world-class facilities for its students.
