The Jose Maria College Mass Communication program hosted the 7th Students Advertising Congress held at the Center for Media and Communication.

Dubbed as Urban Legends 2016, three class based advertising agencies hailed from Philippine Women’s College Visual Communication program and Jose Maria College Mass Communication program flaunted the best of their creations in the tri-media categories – print, radio and television advertising.

JMC reaped three minor awards namely Best Corporate Attire, Best Agency Logo presenter and Best agency logo while PWC won Best TV Advertising, Best Radio plug and Best Print Ad respectively.

BAMC Program Head and Advertising Instructor Mark Roel B. Narreto congratulated the winners and expressed gratitude to PWC School of Fine Arts and Design for responding to the invitation.

“The Advertising Congress seeks to cultivate sensible and credible advertising messages in response to the call of the industry to creating ethical and value-laden advertisement for the Filipino audience,” Narreto said.

Judging the event were Davao media practitioners and entrepreneur Franklin Cuadrillero of 103.5 WOW FM, Kenneth Mhiel Mangaya-ay of ABS-CBN’s Maayong Buntag Mindanao and Maureen Avisado-Siongco of Knots Forever Bridal Gallery.

“Advertising remains a powerful and persuasive medium of mass communication penetrating the very fabric of the society in terms of popularity and culture,” Cuadrillero said in an interview.
