Towards embracing global competitiveness and world-class education, the Jose Maria College hosted the International Teenagers Mathematics Olympiad (ITMO) last November 8-12, 2017.
The event, organized by the Mathematics Trainers Guild (MTG) of the Philippines, was set to test its participant’s Mathematical prowess through a written test of analysis and problem solving.
IBED assistant principal Bryan T. Alberto expressed the institution’s platforms to further harness the global competitiveness of JMarians in mathematics.
“JMC will always seek more avenues for students to exercise their skills in both academic and co-curricular avenues. We will not limit our scope merely to the Philippines alone. Even before, our Founding President has envisioned that JMarians will become an embodiment of world-class excellence,” Alberto said.
The ITMO was participated by more than 600 delegates from Australia, Bulgaria, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Mexico, Nepal, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Zimbabwe and the Philippines.
