Social Activist and veteran television actress Mae Paner also known as Juana Change advocated peace in various ways.
Paner, in a leadership seminar on peace sponsored by Kalinaw Mindanao, shared insights on how to communicate to the community effectively making use of various channels where peace can be best advocated and conflicts can be avoided.
“Peace process is not a concern of one person only. It is a shared responsibility. Therefore, the youth have to take part in the process since they still have the energy and means to do it,” Paner said in an interview.
Participants from various colleges and universities in the city came to participate in different workshops such as poetry writing, painting, storytelling and theater.
MCAS President Jay-ar Ahon said that the activity has made him even more effective communicator as he was able to recognize his potential especially that he is inclined to arts.
SSG President Shamma Guille also grateful to all the organizers of the training as he was challenged to improve on his leadership skills especially in the propagation of peace not only in the school campus but also in the community.
The activity was held at Museo Dabawenyo for two days.
Meanwhile, Kalinaw Mindanao along with Mae Paner would pay other universities and colleges in the region a visit in support to the peace process and conflict management not only in Mindanao but also in the entire country as well.
