The Philippine Postal Corporation (Philpost), in partnership with SM City Davao and Department of Education XI, tapped Mass Communicators in Action Society (MCAS), the official non-academic organization of the Communication Program of the Jose Maria College to run its Inter-school Letter Writing Competition held at the SM Annex Event Center on October 9, 2016.

BAMC Program head Mark Narreto together with some selected members of the organization responded the invitation by ensuring a flawless production and seamless transitions in the program.

Philpost Area Director for Eastern Mindanao Atty. Raul Q. Buensalida recognized the active participation of the Mass Communication students in the event and commended the efforts exerted to producing a successful show.

There were 250 public and private high school students participated in the competition and showed their dexterity in writing and mailing personal letters on the spot.

“Hand written letter is a medium that one can use best what one wishes to convey even in the advent of technology,” Buensalida said in an interview.

The National Writing Competition is in accordance to Republic Act 7354 passed in 1992 stating that students in High School and Elementary are encouraged to write letters and mails to uphold the degree of sincerity and personal attachment of the writers to the letters they write.
