Karateka Jamie Danielle Nirza, a Davaoeña and a student of Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. – College of Nursing, finished with a gold medal performance in Karatedo in the ongoing 11th Brunei Darussalam–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Friendship Games at the NCCC Mall, Puerto Princesa, Palawan on Wednesday.

Nirza outplayed Malaysia’s Anisa Aira Affendi Nur in the women’s advanced individual Kata, scoring 36.5 points next to Nur’s 36.2 in the championship round.

Nirza also joined the women’s Kata team event for Team Philippines, and settled for a silver finish with 34.6 points next to team Malaysia B’s 36.7 output.
The BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games officially opened on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at the Edward S. Hagedorn Coliseum.
