JMCFI, Red Cross inspire compassion thru blood donation drive

Today, the halls of JMCFI echoed with the spirit of service and compassion as the community came together for PROJECT SALIN, a blood donation and donor directory program in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross – Davao Chapter.

The day began early with the registration opening at 8:00 AM, where students, faculty, and staff lined up with eager hearts, ready to give a part of themselves for the sake of others.

At 9 a.m., the campus paused for the scheduled Earthquake Drill, a brief intermission that reminded everyone of the importance of preparedness and safety — values that echo the same care we extend to saving lives. By 10:00 AM, the blood donation proper commenced, and the atmosphere transformed into one of unity and purpose.

The hum of conversations, the quiet courage of donors, and the steady hands of volunteers painted a powerful picture of humanity at its best.

When the registration finally closed at 2 p.m., what stood before us was nothing short of remarkable:

Around 100 bags successfully collected — enough to save approximately 300 lives In just four hours of active donation, the JMCFI community proved that time is never a limit when hearts are willing.

The Philippine Red Cross – Davao Chapter expressed their deep admiration and amazement at the overwhelming turnout and the spirit of volunteerism that filled the venue.

They shared that they did not expect such an extraordinary number of donations within a short time — a testament to how deeply compassion runs within our community.

JMCFI has once again shown what it means to serve humanity: that every drop of blood can carry hope, every willing donor can become a hero, and every act of giving can ripple into saving countless lives.

Together, we made every drop count — because at JMCFI, we don’t just study about life, we give life.
