JMCFI seals collab deal with Indian College

Another international partnership has been sealed between Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. (JMCFI) and a College in India.

With its purpose of developing research cooperation, JMCFI inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sabang Sajanikanta Mahavidlayaka (SSM) on a virtual signing ceremony entered into between the two parties on Feb. 21, 2024.

The agreement includes engagement in collaboration of activities such as joint lectures, seminars, symposia, among others; sharing of faculty and staff of Teacher Education; and, participation in international conferences.

Present in this ceremony were the presidents of both schools, Dr. Manas Bhuniaa and Dr. Felix C. Chavez, Jr. who both shared messages of appreciation for the collaborative effort as academic partners.

“Indian schools are very close to our hearts,” Dr. Chavez said recognizing the existing partnership with OP Jindal University. He also noted that the collaboration flourished and mounted several projects together.

“Today, this is another significant milestone as we gather to celebrate the signing of agreement. This agreement is not only a partnership but a commitment,” he added as he extended his gratitude to the leadership of Sabang College.

Also present in the ceremony were Mr. Ronnie D. Mendoza, the Research Director of JMCFI; Dr. Josefina D. Ortega, the Vice President for Research Development and Publication; Mr. Allan A. Magsipoc, the BSED Program; and the officers and staff from the External Affairs Office. From Sabang College, Dr. Tapan Kumar Dutta, the SSKM Principal and Mr. Supriya Konai, the Assistant Professor of Philosophy were also present to witness the signing.

“We are pleased to have finally met. This agreement marks the beginning of a dynamic partnership aimed at fostering research excellence and academic collaboration between the two esteemed institutions,” Dr. Ortega said.
