Agri student researcher finishes 1st-runner up in outline presentation

DAVAO CITY, Davao del Sur—Among the 15 schools offering Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) in the region, a first-year JMarian claimed the first-runner up spot in a Research Outline Presentation during the Deans’ Association of Agricultural Schools, Inc. (DAASI)Annual Student Regional Convention.

Sharmaine Galela, though a freshman, was able to deliver with ease her research proposal, “Development of a Fertilizer Recommendation System Software for Cacao” under the tutelage of their Dean, Alminda M. Fernandez, Ph.D.

“It’s such a great honor and a privilege to represent our school in this prestigious event. I am overwhelmed and blessed that I successfully defended my research outline and manage my time despite of other technical and general events that I entered,” Galela said as she noted that it was a nice experience and that it helped build her confidence as a person.

The DAASI Annual Student Regional Convention was hosted by Southern Philippines Agri-business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) on Mar. 6-8, 2024.
