JMCFI hosts RadTech Mindanao-wide intercollegiate day

DAVAO CITY, Davao del Sur – Regaled with the fun-filled activities co-produced by Mindanao Association of Radiologic Technology Students (MARTS) and the Association of Radiologic Technology Schools in Mindanao (ARTSM), Jose Maria College Foundation, Inc. (JMCFI) hosted the just-concluded Radiologic Technology Intercollegiate Day with over 900 delegates on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, at the sky gym.

Consistent with the theme, “Patients are our Passion, Safety is our Priority”, the event started with a safety briefing by JMCFI’s Safety Officer, Mr. Richard Pellerin. This was done to orient the delegates on emergency and disaster procedures should untoward circumstances arise.

Nevertheless, Pellerin stressed that the school’s building passed the inspection carried out by professional structural and safety engineers.

Being the president of ARTSM, Mr. Francisco Sedillo, Jr., RR, MSRT, RSO, dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences Education (CAHSE) welcomed the delegates from 10 participating schools: San Pedro College, Notre Dame Hospital and Sienna College of Cotabato, Jose Maria College Foundation Inc., Kidapawan Doctors College Inc., North Valley College Foundation Inc., AMYA Polytechnic College, Dr. P. Ocampo College Inc., Davao Doctors College Inc., Tagum Doctors College Inc., and Cor Jesu College.

The event was graced by Dr. Lorenzo Reveldez, Jr. who shared with the RadTech students and professionals the attitudes and attributes of Radiologic Technology professionals.

Also present in this fete was the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region XI Education Supervisor Dr. Liza Suan who also led the induction of the MARTS and ARTSM officers.

Various competitions were facilitated throughout the day including quiz bowl, e-sports, chess, scrabble, word factory, poster making, battle of the band, vocal solo, MTV Spoof, Hip Hop Dance, and the closing pageant, the Mr. and Ms. RadTech 2023.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Real Acabado, RRT, MSRT, the school’s program head for Radiologic Technology program, shared that next year’s host of the intercollegiate day will be Tagum Doctors College.
