Moving sure and steady despite the limits of the pandemic climate, the Jose Maria College announces a major revamp in the institution’s flagship program, the College of Medicine.
The opening of the new academic year comes with the appointment of Dr. Nestor Salcedo Arce, Jr., MCTM. as the new Dean of the College of Medicine. Dr. Arce is a Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases Specialist. He holds a Doctorate in Clinical Tropical Medicine from Mahidol University School of Tropical Medicine in Bangkok, Thailand, where he also earlier earned his Masters in Clinical Tropical Medicine in 2014.
Dr. Arce has been active in his specialization as a National Reviewer. He served as Chairperson of the Department of Research and Epidemiology at the Brokenshire College of Medicine, Davao City. At the same time, an Adjunct Professor of the Department of Microbiology of the same institution and an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Physical Therapy at San Pedro College, Davao City.
He is likewise a clinical specialist in Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the Metro Davao Research and Medical Center.
On the other hand, the institution also welcomes its new Associate Dean of the College of Medicine to promote Dr. Jed Enumerables. He formerly held the position of Head of the Section of Histology of this institution. He has significant experience in Basic Medical Sciences and taught at the Davao Medical School Foundation before joining the JMC College of Medicine.
More to come as the institution had lined up the appointments to fill various positions to fulfill the management aims to strengthen its medical education program further.
